Sir Jonathan Sacks

Born in London and educated at Cambridge, he is a respected Jewish scholar and teacher and was Principal of Jews College, London, before succeeding Immanuel Jakobovits as chief rabbi of Great Britain in 1991. His concern for the future of the Jewish faith and tradition in contemporary society is reflected in his published works, which include Tradition in an Untraditional Age (1990), Orthodoxy confronts Modernity (1991), Will we have Jewish Grandchildren? (1994) and Faith in the Future (1995).
