Stephen Hawking

Stephen Hawking is a famous physicist and cosmologist and also a sufferer of a slow-progressing form of Motor Neurone Disease. Hawking has won several notable awards such as the Adams Prize, Hughes Medal, Copley Medal and Presidential Medal of Freedom. He has made many notable discoveries including his theoretical prediction that black holes emit radiation and his theory of cosmology explained by a union of the theory of relativity and quantum mechanics. He has been a primary role model for disabled people since the 1990s and has campaigned for various charities and movements ever since, including the legalisation of assisted suicide.
